Spice Xlife 404, 431Q Lite, Xlife 512 launched for under Rs. 5k


Spice Mobiles today launched new Xlife series handsets the Xlife 404, Xlife 512 and the Xlife 431Q Lite for Rs. 4,999, Rs. 4,999 and Rs. 4,199 respectively. These handsets will be available soon and they are running android KitKat out of the box.
The Spice Xlife 404 is powered by 1GHz processor, surprisingly the processor core is not mentioned (probably dual core), it however comes with Mali 400 GPU. This dual SIM handset sports a 4 inch screen with 800 x 480 pixels resolution.

Xlife 404 is 9.9mm thick and running Android KitKat with 256MB RAM, 512MB internal storage and 32GB micro SD card support. The handset also packs a 1.3MP front facing camera and a 3.2MP fixed focus rear camera with LED flash.
Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. Spice Xlife 404 gets power from a 1450 mAh battery with an estimated talk time of up to 7 hours. This handset is priced at Rs. 4,999.

The Spice Xlife 431Q Lite is powered by 1.2GHz quad core processor running KitKat 4.4 over a 4 inch screen with 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) resolution. It is using Mali 400 GPU. There is 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage space and 32GB external card support.

A 3.2MP camera is packed on the rear with LED flash and a 1.3MP camera on the front. This dual SIM handset supports 3G, 2G, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. A 1750 mAh battery that powers up the handset gives up to 8 hours of talk time.
Spice Xlife 431Q Lite will be available soon for Rs. 4,199 with 3 changeable colorful back panels and free flip cover.


The Xlife 512 is powered by 1GHz dual core processor running KitKat with 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM & 32GB micro SD support over a 5 inch screen with 854 x 480 pixels resolution. This dual SIM handset comes with 8MP AF camera on rear with dual LED flash and a 2MP camera on the front.

Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. The Spice Xlife 512 has got a premium body with sandstone back cover. It gets power from a 2000 mAh battery and price at Rs. 4,999.

LG Band Play quad core powered smartphone launched in South Korea


LG launched the LG Band Play in South Korea for KRW 395k that comes to approx Rs. 23K in India. The handset sails on Lollipop with 2GB RAM and comes powered by the 64 bit snapdragon quad core processor.


LG Band Play for now will be available in South Korea only and there is no official word as to when or if it will be released globally. The Band Play houses the 1.2GHz qualcomm snapdragon 410quad core processor (64 bit) with Adreno 306 GPU.

Handset is running Android 5.1 out of the box over a 5 inch IPS screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. There is 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB of internal storage space, plus micro SD card support. This smartphone also comes packed with 13MP camera on the rear using laser auto focus and with a front facing 5MP camera. Rear camera comes with dual tone LED flash support.
As the name suggest the Band Play is made especially for music lovers – it comes loaded with 1W speaker and box pack includes a LG Quad Beat 3 earphone. Other features are 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth 4.1. Handset is 8.3mm thick and weight with 2300 mAh battery is about 126 grams.

Lava Flair E1 single core entry level smartphone for Rs. 2749


Lava Mobiles Flair E1 is powered by a single core processor running KitKat over a 3.5 inch screen with HVGA resolution. This low cost smartphone with dual SIM support is priced at just Rs. 2,749.
The lava Flair E1 comes with 3.5 inch TFT touch screen supporting 480 x 320 pixels (HVGA) resolution. It houses a 1GHz single core processor but running Android KitKat 4.4.2 with 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM (internal storage) and micro SD card support of up to 32GB.

The handset looks pretty good for this price tag. It’s dual SIM with 2G support, unfortunately 3G is not supported. Flair E1 also comes loaded with primary camera of 2MP resolution and a secondary camera of VGA resolution. Both the front as well as rear cameras are fixed focus. There is LED flash support for the rear camera.



Additional features are 2G (EDGE/GPRS), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1. There is no built in GPS support. The E1 houses a 1300 mAh battery (Li-ion) that gives up to 3 hours of talk time on a single charge.

Micromax Canvas Selfie lens smartphone with Selfie Clip launched for Rs. 8299


Micromax today launched the Canvas Selfie lens smartphone that comes with an add-on Clip that can be attached on the front camera for capturing wide angle selfies. This smartphones is powered by quad core processor and priced at Rs. 8,299.


The Micromax Canvas Selfie lens smartphone houses a 1.3GHz quad core processor (chipset unknown). It sports a 5 inch screen with corning gorilla glass 3 protection. This screen supports 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

Android Lollipop 5.0 is running out of the box with 1GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB internal storage (ROM). There is micro SD card slot that supports up to 32GB external cards. An 8MP camera with Sony sensor and largan lens is packed on the rear with LED flash support. The front camera of 5MP resolution (fixed focus) is also using the largan lens with OV sensors.
User will need to clip 0.4x wide angle lens on the front camera to capture wide angle selfies. The clip can also be used on the rear camera for wide angle shots.

Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. This Selfie Lens smartphone gets power from a 2800 mAh battery with talk time of up to 9 hours on a single charge.
Micromax Canvas Selfie Lens handset will be available in Moon dust gray and white/Champagne colour option for Rs. 8,299.

Android M Developer preview made available on selected Sony smartphones


Sony has officially announced that the Android M (Developer Preview) will be made available on selected devices. They have also listed the devices that will get access to Android M. But do note that this is a Developer preview, it is not stable release.


The following devices will get access to the Android M Developer Preview (DP) – Xperia Z3/Z3 Compact/Z3 tablet, Z2/Z2 Tablet, Z1/Z1 compact, Z Ultra, E3, M2, T3 and T2 Ultra. Now this software is not certified and not meant for regular usage. If you know what you are doing you can test the Android M much before it is officially made available. But do note that some features have been disabled.

Sony has specifically mentioned that camera and Modem are disabled but can be installed later on. This is not an OTA update, but you will need to use the test image and manually flash it on to your device.

Lenovo A6000 plus for Rs. 7K, OPO 64GB for 2


The Big App shopping days on Flipkart has begun starting today till 24th June 2015. Lenovo A6000 Plus is now available for Rs. 6,999 and OnePlus One 64GB for Rs. 19,998 (without exchange). OnePlus One is powered by 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset running KitKat/Lollipop with 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage space. This is a single SIM handset with 4G support. Screen is 5.5 inches supporting 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution.
OPO comes loaded with 13MP AF primary camera with 4K recording capabilities and 5MP front camera. OPO is using a 3100 mAh battery.
Lenovo A6000 Plus now available for Rs. 6,999 and the OPO for Rs. 19,998.

Micromax Canvas Tabby P469 the family tab launched for Rs. 6500

This tablet sports a 7 inch TFT screen with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. Android KitKat version 4.4.x is running out of the box with 1GB of built in RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Users can use up to 32GB external card support.
Micromax yesterday launched a family tablet called the Canvas Tabby P469 for Rs. 6,500. The Tabby comes with dual mode option that gives parental more parental control and also comes with customized Kids mode.
Micromax Canvas Tabby houses a dual core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The chipset is not yet known but this tab does come with dual SIM slots with 3G connectivity, and yes you can use it for making voice calls.
A 2MP fixed focus camera with LED flash is placed on the rear and there is a 2MP front facing camera too. Other features are dual SIM, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. The Canvas Tabby gets power from a 3200 mAh battery.
This family tab – the Micromax Canvas Tabby P469 will be available exclusively on flipkart.com from 22nd June for Rs. 6,500.

Celkon Millennia Q5K power quad core with 5000 mAh battery for Rs. 520


Celkon Mobiles has launched the Millennia Q5K power a quad core powered smartphone running Android KitKat with 512MB RAM for Rs. 5,200. But what makes the Q5K power unique is the 5000 mAh battery that it houses.


The Celkon Millennia Q5K power is using a 1.2GHz quad core processor (chipset unknown) and sports a 5 inch screen with FWVGA – 854 x 480 pixels resolution. This smartphone weight with the 5000 mAh battery is 169 grams and thickness is 10mm.

Q5K power is running outdated Android KitKat 4.4.2 out of the box with 512MB RAM and 4GB ROM (internal storage). There is micro SD slot to add up to 32GB external cards. When it comes to the camera this handset is packed with a 3.2MP camera on the front and a 5MP auto focus camera on the rear with LED flash support.

XOLO Cube 5.0 quad core smartphone launched for Rs


XOLO Mobiles today launched their new handset the XOLO Cube 5.0. This handset comes with dual SIM slot and is powered by MediaTek quad core processor. Cube 5.0 is running Lollipop and will be available in White, Gold and Black colour options for Rs. 7,999.



The XOLO Cube 5.0 is using a 32 bit MediaTek MT6582M quad core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali 400 MP GPU @ 500 MHz. Handset looks quite attractive and is pretty slim with a thickness of about 6.9mm. There are dual SIM slots with 3G support.

Cube 5.0 sports a 5 inch IPS screen with 5 point multi touch support and playing around with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Android 5.0 sails out of the box with 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and 32GB external card support. This smartphone comes loaded with 3 common sensors – accelerometer, light and proximity.


There is an 8 megapixel auto focus camera with FHD recording capabilities on the rear and a 2MP fixed focus camera on the front. Rear camera comes with LED flash support for low light photography.

LG G4 dual SIM dual LTE officially launched for Rs. 51K


LG today launched the LG G4 dual SIM with dual LTE support (both SIM slots support 4G) in India for Rs. 51,000. The G4 with 32GB is already available online for Rs. 47,685 – however that is with GSM + LTE support (only one SIM supports 4G) and the new one launched today is with LTE+ LTE support.
LG G4 is LG’s latest flagship model that houses the 1.8GHz qualcomm snapdragon 808 HEXA core 64 bit processor (dual core cortex A57 + quad core A53) coupled with Adreno 418 GPU. Android 5.1 sails out of the box (with UX 4.0 UI) with 3GB on-board RAM and 32GB ROM + there is micro SD card slot to add more storage.

LG4 is 9.8 mm thick and like the other LG G series handsets the buttons are placed on the rear. This handset sports a 5.5 inch screen with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. A 16MP AF camera with OIS and f/1.8 aperture lens is packed on the rear along with LED flash. The camera is using laser focus for fast and accurate focusing. There is a front camera too of 8MP resolution with f/2.0 aperture.

Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth. The G4 gets power from a 3000 mAh battery.
LG G4 though already available online / offline, this new G4 with dual SIM / dual LTE support will be available soon for Rs. 51,000.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab E launched for under Rs. 21K

Tab A is powered by 1.2GHz Quad Core 64bit processor (Chipset unknown) and also includes a 5MP primary auto focus camera and 2MP secondary fixed focus camera. Rear camera can record 720p resolution videos and the tab can play FHD videos.
amsung India has launched two new tablets the Galaxy Tab A and the Galaxy Tab E for Rs. 20,500 and Rs. 16,900 respectively. The Tab A comes with a SIM slot with 4G LTE support and Tab E also comes with SIM slot but with 3G network support.



The Samsung Galaxy Tab A sports an 8 inch TFT screen with XGA resolution (1024 x 768 pixels resolution) with 4:3 aspect ratio. Tab A weight with battery is 320 grams and it is about 7.5mm thick. This tab is running Android Lollipop with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. There is micro SD slot that supports up to 128GB external cards.

Other features are 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, voice calling, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS with GLONASS. This Tab gets power from a 4200 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy Tab A is available for Rs. 20,500. Consumers will also get gifts worth Rs. 30,000 (entertainment, lifestyle, utility apps and eBooks).


The Samsung Galaxy Tab E is powered by 1.3GHz quad core processor and it’s running Android KitKat 4.4 with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage plus 128GB micro SD support. This tablet sports a 9.6 inch TFT screen with 1280 x 800 pixels, that’s WXGA resolution.


Tab E weight is 495 grams and its 8.5mm thick. This tablet comes loaded with 5MP AF rear camera and 2MP FF front camera. Key features are 3G, 2G, Bluetooth, GPS with GLONASS and Wi-Fi. Tab E gets power from a 5000 mAh battery.

Micromax launches the Canvas Sliver 5 slimmest phone ever



Micromax today launched the Canvas Sliver 5, they call it the slimmest phone ever. The phone has just been unveiled now, in New Delhi. The handset is about 5.1 mm thin. The Sliver 5 is also the lightest phone ever just about 97 grams.
This handset is using an aircraft grade aluminum metal frame – makes it strong, slim and extremely light. Sliver 5 is powered by qualcomm snapdragon 410 64 bit quad core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 4G LTE support. There is an 8MP SONY IMX219 sensors with professional mode is packed on the rear with LED flash. Front camera is of 5MP resolution.
It using the NXP power amp and Dirac HD sound for impressive sound quality. The Sliver 5 comes with a 2000 mAh Li-Po battery. Android Lollipop is running out of the box with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
